We’re inviting you to take a Short Break with MPI on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 12:00-12:30 p.m. (EST). The event will include a special screening of the award-winning MPI Original Film A Piece of Cake, starring Rich Sommer (GLOW, Mad Men) followed by a live Q&A with MPI filmmakers Austin and Meredith Bragg (who are also producers at Reason TV) and two of the MPI producers on the film, Lana Link and Nick Reid.

You must register before December 9 to receive access to the screening, which includes 24 hours of on-demand access to the film and the recorded Q&A once the live stream has concluded, so those who are unable to join us at noon can still enjoy this special screening opportunity at their convenience. And the icing on the cake: all registered participants will be entered into a drawing to receive a complimentary dozen cupcakes from Sprinkles Cupcakes!

We promise to keep the event under 30 minutes, so “get away” from the daily grind and enjoy the award-winning comedy that has already been accepted into over 20 film festivals.

We look forward to taking a “Short Break” with you!

About A Piece of Cake
When a desperate father discovers his daughter’s favorite cake decoration is illegal, he descends into a confectionery black market. Now he must make the ultimate parenting choice: break a birthday promise or break the law?

Written by MPI filmmakers Meredith and Austin Bragg, this script was developed in MPI’s Short Film Creative Development and Production Lab and produced as an MPI Original short.

A Piece of Cake has been accepted into 23 film festivals including four that are Oscar-qualifying—the Tribeca Film Festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival, the HollyShorts Film Festival, and the Indy Shorts International Film Festival. Its accolades include a nomination for Best Narrative Short at the Tribeca Film Festival and Best Comedy and the Audience Choice Award in Comedy at the Indy Shorts International Film Festival. The Bragg Brothers also earned the Rising Star Award at the Naples International Film Festival for their work on the film.
