Richard Brody, esteemed film critic for The New Yorker, hailed the MPI Original Film Pinball as one of his top films of 2023 so far. In a recent video for the magazine, Brody highlighted the award-winning film’s “narrative gamesmanship” and “remarkably tender love story” between the film’s main characters Roger Sharpe (played by Mike Faist) and Ellen (played by Crystal Reed).
