MPI filmmaker Matt MacDonald discusses his most recent film Melons on The Creative Block podcast with Vince Gonzales. 

Developed in MPI’s 2020 Short Film Lab, Melons stars Brian Huskey (Veep, People of Earth, Bob’s Burgers) and Martin Mull (Roseanne, Arrested Development, Clue). In 2022 the film screened at 17 notable film festivals. Highlights of its impressive film festival run include screening at the Newport Beach International Film Festival; being nominated for Best Comedy at the Cordillera festival in Reno; and winning Best Short Film at the Orlando Film Festival.
