The MPI Original feature film Freedom Hair continues to win awards and touch audiences during its film festival run. This weekend the film screened as the closing night film of the Black Film Summit in Illinois where it was awarded the top prize of Best Feature Film. Freedom Hair’s talented cast led by Simona Brown (Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes), Jeremie Harris (Legion, Fargo), Sophia Bush (Good Sam, False Positive), and Erica Tazel (Justified, Roots) was also awarded Best Ensemble Cast in a Feature Film for their impressive performances. 

The film will next screen as an official selection at the Queens World Film Festival in Astoria, Queens, in New York City April 26 at the Museum of the Moving Image. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
