The MPI Original feature Freedom Hair won the Directors’ Choice Award for Most Inspirational Film at the Sedona International Film Festival this weekend.

The highly regarded fest hosted the world premiere of Freedom Hair this past week with cast and crew in attendance including subject and executive producer Melony Armstrong, Oscar-nominated director Dianne Houston, cast members Jeremie Harris and Erica Tazel, and MPI executive vice president and executive producer Nick Reid. 

The film resonated with audiences as it tells the inspiring, true story of a mother and entrepreneur who must overcome unexpected obstacles imposed by the state of Mississippi and a powerful cosmetology cartel to realize her dream of starting a natural hair braiding business.
