MPI Original shorts are making waves on the festival circuit. Grind, Poisoned Skies, The One-Minute Problem, Pocket Change, The Art of Inflation, Remnants, The Dying Business, and Shoot, Shovel, and Shut Up have screened at 63 festivals, earning 42 nominations, 19 award wins, one runner-up placement, and one finalist distinction.

Developed through MPI’s Short Film Lab or Documentary Storytelling Workshop and produced through the Production Lab, these films reflect the success of the Rising Filmmaker Program’s (RFP) end-to-end model. From concept inception to acclaimed recognition, the RFP’s support spans every stage of development, production, and even exhibition.

Through stories centered on entrepreneurship, economic freedom, and the real-world effects of government policy, these films demonstrate the power of storytelling to advance human freedom. Their festival selections, nominations, and wins serve as a strong calling card for MPI filmmakers as they build careers, reach wider audiences, and move their work forward. And the momentum continues with more screenings on the horizon—so stay tuned!
