The MPI Original short The Art of Inflation joins the official lineup of the Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles, California. The screening will take place on Monday, June 22, at 6:15 p.m. at the famed Chinese Theatres in the heart of Hollywood. Now in its 29th year, Dances With Films has become one of the most respected showcases for independent cinema in the country. Named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “Coolest Film Festivals” in both 2024 and 2025 and recognized by USA Today as a Top 10 North American Film Festival, the festival is known for championing innovative filmmaking and emerging talent.

Written and directed by MPI filmmakers Brett Wietecha and Tim Hedberg, The Art of Inflation is set during Venezuela’s economic collapse and follows two brothers forced to work on a militia-run coca farm as they plan their escape. When the younger brother risks everything for freedom—and for the girl he loves—their bond is tested in a fight for survival.
