MPI has cast comedic actor Brian Huskey in the lead for the MPI Original short Melons, which we will be shooting this month.

You may recognize Huskey from his roles in HBO’s Veep, NBC’s Parks and Recreation, TBS’s People of Earth, and FOX’s Bob’s Burgers. He has worked alongside Hollywood heavyweights Will Ferrell and Seth Rogen in films like Step Brothers, Superbad, and Neighbors. And also starred in the viral CollegeHumor YouTube miniseries If Google Was a Guy.

In Melons, Brian will play the jolly, but meek, grocery store manager who learns to stand up for himself after a misunderstanding brands him as public enemy #1.

Melons was developed in MPI’s 2020 Short Film Creative Development and Production Lab by MPI filmmaker Matthew MacDonald. It is the first of three Original shorts MPI will shoot this year.
