The award-winning MPI Original short A Piece of Cake will enjoy an in-person screening at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, June 11, in New York City. The comedy starring Rich Sommer (GLOW, Mad Men) was a 2020 Official Selection and was nominated for Best Narrative Short. The Tribeca Film Festival is screening those films slated to premiere at the 2020 festival this year because they were not able to have in-person screenings last year.

Founded by Robert De Niro, Tribeca is one of the world’s preeminent film festivals for independent filmmakers, receiving thousands of annual submissions.

A Piece of Cake has enjoyed a decorated festival run, screening in dozens including seven that are Oscar-qualifying—the Tribeca Film Festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival, the HollyShorts Film Festival, the Show Me Shorts Film Festival, the Edmonton International Film Festival, the Foyle Film Festival, and the Indy Shorts International Film Festival. It won Best Comedy and the Audience Choice Award in Comedy at Indy Shorts and the Wedgie Award for Best Comedy at Edmonton. The short also enjoyed its television debut on ShortsTV and had a limited theatrical run.
