Developed through MPI’s Short Film Lab and produced through the MPI Production Lab, The One-Minute Problem follows a young scientist on the verge of inventing teleportation. As he races to perfect his breakthrough and reunite with his family, he must outsmart an overzealous Department of Water and Power bureaucrat determined to shut down his project.
The film stars Goya Award nominee Gorka Otxoa (Pagafantas, Machos Alfa), Emmy-winning Downton Abbey actor Brendan Coyle, Marta Guerras (Las últimas de la fila), and Kwami Odoom, whose credits include Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre.
The film has already screened at 10 festivals across the US, Europe, and Latin America, and received two Best Sci-Fi Film awards. Next, it will screen at Indy Shorts, one of the world’s premier Oscar-qualifying film festivals, on July 25 at 12:15 p.m. It will also be available to stream online through the festival from July 21 at noon through July 26 at 11:59 p.m. Learn more and purchase streaming access here.
