The MPI Original short film Pocket Change, written and directed by MPI filmmakers Heston Roewe and Tanner Mobley, won the Audience Choice Award at Mythic Fest in Los Angeles, California.

The festival brings together independent genre films and filmmakers in Los Angeles, with audiences voting for their favorites. The Audience Choice Award recognizes Pocket Change as a standout among festivalgoers.

Starring Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under, Planet Terror, and Poseidon), Pocket Change centers on a mysterious drifter whose seemingly worthless quarter may be the key to saving a group of strangers when the power goes out at a remote roadside diner.

The award adds to the film’s festival run this year. Pocket Change also recently won Best Featurette at LAcon V, the 84th World Science Fiction Convention, and continues to screen at festivals across the country. Check out where it will screen next here.
