MPI is now accepting applications for Moving Picturercraft 2021. This cinematography workshop, led by award-winning cinematographer Benjamin Gaskell, is designed for aspiring and working directors of photography and directors seeking to learn how lighting, camera, and lens technologies can help them achieve their artistic intentions.

In this workshop, select filmmakers learn from members of the award-winning American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) while receiving hands-on experience with industry-standard camera and lighting systems.

“I found this exhilarating. It was such a rush to get to collaborate with everyone and use the amazing resources afforded to us to create my vision for the scene,” commented John Gillen, a past Moving Picturecraft participant. “The other students were creative, professional, and enthusiastic—all around a great group of storytellers, and it was a thrilling experience.”

This three-day in-person workshop will take place in Los Angeles during the first weekend of November. Thanks to the generosity of MPI’s supporters, Moving Picturecraft is offered at no cost and includes travel assistance for non-local participants.

If you are a filmmaker looking to enhance your skills while directing a full crew behind the lens, be sure to apply here by October 18!
