MPI is proud to once again support the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences internship enhancement and mentorship program Academy Gold Rising (formerly Academy Gold).

As a supporter, interns participating in MPI’s Hollywood Career Launch Program (HCLP) also receive access to Academy programming such as curated panels, private film screenings, networking opportunities with industry professionals, studio tours, and educational workshops. Select MPI interns are chosen to receive further specialized training in their chosen area of filmmaking.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Academy Gold Rising class this year,” said MPI’s Gold Rising intern Taryn Cohn. “I am most looking forward to gaining experience developing a pitch with a group and then presenting it to a board of Academy members at the end of the summer. I also cannot wait for the lineup of incredible panelists.” 

Through the program, Taryn will meet virtually over the next eight weeks to network with Academy members and industry professionals and participate in a variety of panel discussions and career preparation sessions. Following the program, interns are paired with an Academy member for an eight-month mentorship. 

In addition to Gold Rising, MPI has placed Taryn in an internship with Skybound (The Walking Dead) where she will be a member of the creative development team which is responsible for reading scripts and providing decision makers with a summary and analysis of a screenplay’s quality as well as how it fits within their specific mandate. She will also attend our HCLP’s 10-week Freedom + Film Summer Series, developed to enhance interns’ understanding of navigating the entertainment industry.
