Entertainment site CinemaBlend recently highlighted three-time Emmy winning actress Uzo Aduba’s powerful performance in the MPI Original Film Miss Virginia

The article praised Uzo for her role as Virginia Walden Ford, a struggling single mother who is losing her teenage son to the rough streets of Washington, DC. Unwilling to see him drop out and deal drugs, she puts him in a private school. But when Virginia can’t afford tuition, she launches a movement to change the system that is destroying him and thousands like him.

“It’s a classic tale of perseverance, and what you can do if you just try hard enough to give the life you want to someone else, and Uzo Aduba does it fantastically,” wrote Alexandra Ramos for CinemaBlend. “To be sure, it’s one of the best movies on Netflix, but you’re just going to have to watch to see.”

You can watch Miss Virginia now on Netflix, Apple TV, and Prime Video.
