Recently MPI hosted a masterclass in Los Angeles featuring Lindsey Weissmueller. The veteran casting director met with MPI filmmakers to discuss how indie producers can compete and attract top-notch casting directors and on-screen talent.

Lindsey has been casting for feature films and television for 14 years. Some of her projects include the Netflix comedy Players (starring Gina Rodriguez, Damon Wayans Jr., Tom Ellis, Liza Koshy, and Joel Courtney), truTV’s comedy series Adam Ruins Everything, the Amazon Studios drama Ava (starring Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Common, and John Malkovich), Blumhouse’s street magic thriller Sleight (Sundance 2016), and IFC Midnight’s Carnage Park (Sundance 2016). Her project Searching (starring John Cho and Debra Messing) was a $1M budget Sundance darling that grossed nearly $100M worldwide, and she worked on Red Hour’s Plus One (starring Maya Erskine and Jack Quaid), which won the Audience Award at Tribeca 2019.

Currently Lindsay is in production on a Netflix comedy series The G Word for Michelle and Barack Obama’s Higher Ground and the MPI Original Film Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game

MPI filmmakers were able to gain valuable knowledge from Lindsey and receive individualized advice on their projects. If you would like to attend future MPI masterclasses, apply here to join our filmmaker network.
