MPI is now accepting applications for its immersive cinematography workshop, Moving Picturecraft. The workshop, which was originally slated to take place this past summer, has been rescheduled in accordance with the current COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

To ensure the safety of our filmmakers and instructors, our 2020 workshop will take place using the following hybrid approach:

The workshop will kick off with virtual sessions beginning in mid-November. Led by MPI filmmaker Benjamin Gaskell, attendees will receive expert instruction from award-winning members of the American Society of Cinematographers in weekly virtual sessions. Participants will learn lighting, camera, and lens techniques and how to apply the cinematography theory behind those techniques to achieve their artistic intentions.

They will regroup in 2021 for an intense, in person weekend at a world-class soundstage in Los Angeles where they will receive the hands-on experience with industry-standard cameras and lighting systems that our premier cinematography workshop has become known for.

The application deadline is Wednesday, October 28. Aspiring and working directors of photography and directors should apply here.
