The Moving Picture Institute is excited to announce our 2020 Short Film Program, which supports screenwriters and filmmakers who are committed to developing and producing narrative short film projects about human freedom. 

This unique program invests substantially in quality short concepts by acquiring scripts and producing them as MPI Original short films for our 2020 production slate. 

We invite those interested in applying to submit a short film concept pitch that relates to this year’s theme: Standing Up For What You Believe In, Even When It’s Unpopular. 

This could be a comedic take on freedom of speech or deviating from mob mentality; a heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship or relationship that showcases individualism over identity politics; or a powerful David v. Goliath story where someone risks everything to fight the system. The possibilities are endless.
