The MPI Original feature Motherland was recently recognized at the Anthem Film Festival in Palm Springs, California, where it received the Excellence in Filmmaking Award and Best Score.
Director Evan Matthews, screenwriter and MPI director of talent and creative development Nicole Roewe, vice president of philanthropic investments Joseph Corey, and senior vice president Lana Link also hosted a masterclass on the making of the film, offering a behind-the-scenes look at its development and production.

The film has also been selected to screen at the 34th Annual Woods Hole Film Festival (WHFF) on Saturday, August 2, at 5 p.m. ET in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious independent film festivals in New England, WHFF champions emerging voices and showcases thought-provoking films in a setting that fosters meaningful dialogue between filmmakers and audiences.
