2019 was a record year for the Moving Picture Institute:

• We released our first MPI Original feature film Miss Virginia to critical acclaim and it is now available to more than 100 million homes on over 1,000 digital platforms.
• Our comedy news channel We the Internet TV surpassed 130 years of total watch time and took its unique brand of equal-opportunity offender humor on the road with its “The Funny Thing About Hate Speech” tour.
• MPI films won 25 awards at film festivals around the world.
• The MPI Original short Regulation and the MPI-supported short Corrections premiered exclusively on the sci-fi streaming service DUST.
• We supported 87 filmmakers with internships, MPI Masterclasses, and production grants.

And we are carrying this tremendous momentum into 2020 with exciting plans to make this our best year yet. This year, MPI will:

• Release two new Original shorts: A Piece of Cake and The Perfect One.
• Develop a robust pipeline of future MPI Original feature films.
• Workshop and produce two new Original short films. 
• Provide even more freedom-minded filmmakers with the tools and guidance they need to succeed in their craft. 
• And We the Internet TV will embark on a new multi-city tour exposing the truth about democratic socialism.
