Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to entrepreneurship? Do you want to see policies change to cut through red tape and create more opportunities? If so, don’t miss the chance to watch Freedom Hair, an MPI Original feature narrative film that brings one woman’s fight for economic freedom to the big screen.

Directed by Oscar-nominated writer-director Dianne Houston, this inspiring drama tells the true story of Melony Armstrong, a mother from Mississippi who turned her dream of starting a natural hair braiding business into a movement for change. Faced with restrictive licensing laws imposed by a powerful cosmetology cartel and the state, Melony took a stand—challenging the system and paving the way for others to follow in her footsteps.

Join MPI and the Institute for Justice for a free screening of Freedom Hair and meet Melony in person. Learn how she took on the law and won and discover what you can do to help increase opportunity for natural hair braiders in your state.
