‘The Dying Business’ to Screen in New Orleans

MPI Original documentary short The Dying Business will screen as an official selection at the Society for Visual Anthropology Film and Media Festival, held at the American Anthropological Association’s Annual Meeting, on Wednesday, November 19, at 3:15 p.m. in New Orleans, Louisiana. The festival is one of the most respected showcases for films that explore culture and humanity through an anthropological lens, bringing together leading visual storytellers and scholars from around the world. Developed through the MPI Documentary Storytelling Workshop and produced in MPI’s Production Lab, The Dying Business, from MPI filmmaker Joe Duca, follows a quirky Italian American family in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, as they navigate the challenges of keeping their third-generation funeral home running in a changing town.
