The MPI Original short film Shoot, Shovel, and Shut Up, written and directed by MPI filmmaker Trần Hoàng Calvin, has been chosen as an official selection at the Sunscreen Film Festival NORTH—an event known for showcasing emerging talent alongside acclaimed independent filmmakers and for its strong industry connections through the St. Petersburg–based Sunscreen Film Festival, a long-standing partner of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The film will screen on Saturday, November 1, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Told through dark humor and rural realism, the film follows the Clifford family as they prepare to sell their rundown farm and begin anew. But when their son Andy discovers an endangered bird on the property—threatening to derail the sale—he faces an impossible choice: reveal the truth or take matters into his own hands.
