The MPI Original feature Motherland will screen as an official selection at the Vermont Film and Folklore Festival in Brattleboro, Vermont. Renowned for its celebration of unique storytelling and its focus on films that explore the rich tapestry of culture and personal identity, the festival provides a platform for narratives that connect deeply with audiences. Motherland’s star-studded cast includes Tony Award winner Miriam Silverman (The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window), legendary Emmy-winning actress Holland Taylor (The Morning Show, Hollywood), Emmy Award winner Néstor Carbonell (Shōgun, The Morning Show), and newcomer Emily Arancio. 

In an alternate present where children are raised in official Children’s Centers from birth to age twenty, a Motherland enforcer discovers the identity of a young women in her care. When the Center launches a program to combat population decline, she becomes determined to protect the young woman from becoming part of it.
