MPI Original Films is thrilled to announce its feature film Pinball will make its world premiere this October at the Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) as an official selection. HIFF is highly selective, screening only 13 films last year out of over 1,400 submissions. This elite festival also has a stellar track record of selecting Oscar winners—with 2021 marking the 11th year in a row that a film screened at HIFF won Best Picture.

Starring Tony and BAFTA nominee Mike Faist (Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story), Crystal Reed (Swamp Thing, Teen Wolf), and Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul, Billions), Pinball is the true story of Roger Sharpe, the GQ journalist and real-life pinball wizard who in 1976 overturned New York City’s 35-year ban on pinball machines. The film was written and directed by longtime MPI filmmakers Austin and Meredith Bragg, who are also producers at Reason TV.

“We feel so proud to play host to a number of World Premiere screenings, and are honored that these brilliant storytellers have chosen to screen their films for audiences for the first time here at HIFF,” said David Nugent, Hamptons Film Artistic Director.

The 30th Annual HIFF will take place October 7-16 in Hamptons, NY. To learn more about the festival, click here.
