The MPI Original Film Melons screened this past weekend as an official selection at the Cordillera International Film Festival in Reno, NV, where it was nominated for Best Comedy. 

This festival is the largest in Nevada and has been listed by FilmFreeway as a “Top 100 Reviewed Film Festival.” The screening took place during the Cordillera’s special “Movies in the Park” program.

Starring Brian Huskey (Veep, Bob’s Burgers) and Martin Mull (Arrested Development, Roseanne), Melons follows a jolly, but meek, grocery manager who learns to stand up for himself after a misunderstanding brands him as public enemy #1.

The comedy short will screen next at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival alongside the MPI Original Series We’re Doing Good.
