The MPI Original short The One-Minute Problem, written and directed by MPI filmmaker Nick Delgado, has been selected for the Chattanooga Film Festival, a widely respected showcase for independent genre cinema that has been named among MovieMaker Magazine‘s top genre film festivals in the world. Audiences can stream the film through the festival’s virtual program from June 19 at 12 a.m. through June 27 at 11:59 p.m. Preorders are available here.

Developed through MPI’s Short Film Lab and produced through the MPI Production Lab, The One-Minute Problem follows a Spanish immigrant who is trying to invent teleportation in his garage. When his experiments begin drawing too much power from the electrical grid, a Department of Water and Power inspector vows to shut him down, putting both his breakthrough invention and his relationship with his pregnant wife at risk.

The film stars Gorka Otxoa, a Goya Award–nominated actor known for Pagafantas, Netflix’s Fe de etarras, and the hit series Machos Alfa. He is joined by Brendan Coyle, best known for his role as John Bates in the Emmy-winning series Downton Abbey, along with Marta Guerras, whose credits include films directed by Álex de la Iglesia and the Netflix series Las últimas de la fila. The cast also features Kwami Odoom, known for his work at Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre.
