As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome 2025—MPI’s 20th year—we want to take a moment to thank you for your steadfast support and belief in our mission. Together, we’ve made a transformative impact by training filmmakers and telling compelling stories of human freedom through film.
Here are a few highlights from 2024: MPI Original feature films Kemba and Freedom Hair debuted on major streaming platforms including BET+, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime; principal photography wrapped on nine MPI Original short films developed through our talent initiatives; MPI Original features and shorts screened at award-winning festivals in 78 cities worldwide; focused on Kemba, a strategic grassroots screening campaign engaged more than 12,100 attendees across 120 grassroots events; and 77 filmmakers received support and practical training through MPI’s Rising Filmmaker Program (RFP). You can find detailed wrap-ups highlighting the impactful year for MPI Original films here and the RFP here.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of supporters like you.
2025 marks MPI’s 20th Anniversary—a milestone year already promising to be truly remarkable. In October, we’ll celebrate two decades of progress and innovation with a special weekend in Los Angeles honoring our achievements empowering filmmakers and championing pro-freedom storytelling. In 2025, MPI is also preparing to advance its most extensive slate of feature films, premiere Motherland at festivals across the country, complete production on nine short films, and introduce offerings that will further expand our filmmaker network and provide targeted opportunities for filmmakers at every stage of their careers.
