The popular entertainment site Collider has named the MPI Original feature film One Second After the #1 most anticipated upcoming sci-fi book adaptation.

Based on the bestselling novel by William R. Forstchen, One Second After follows a former military officer who must protect his family and community after a devastating electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack wipes out all modern technology. The catastrophe plunges the world into chaos, exposing both the fragility of modern civilization and the resilience of the human spirit.

The film, which wrapped principal photography earlier this year, stars Josh Holloway (Duster, Lost), Hannah John-Kamen (Thunderbolts*), Famke Janssen (X-Men), and Academy Award® nominee Mary McDonnell (Dances with Wolves). The adapted screenplay was co-written by acclaimed writer, producer, and director J. Michael Straczynski (Sense8, Jeremiah, Babylon 5) and MPI’s Nicole Roewe (Motherland), and the film was directed by award-winning stunt coordinator and director Scott Rogers (Tron: Ares, John Wick: Chapter 4).

Collider’s recognition places One Second After at the top of a list celebrating the most compelling sci-fi stories making the leap from page to screen, highlighting the growing anticipation surrounding the film’s release.
