We are pleased to announce that MPI’s board of directors has been expanded to include entertainment industry professionals Colin Brady and Michael Mandaville. With decades of experience across animation, visual effects, film production, and writing, Brady and Mandaville bring deep creative and strategic expertise that will help guide MPI’s work and support filmmakers at every stage of their careers.

Colin is an award-winning animation director and writer with over 25 years of experience leading teams at Pixar, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), and AMGI Studios. He is the founder and president of Sister Moon Animation Studios, a Los Angeles-based studio advancing character-driven animation through AI-powered, artist-focused workflows. 

A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Visual Effects Society, Colin is also the inventor of five patents (2023–2024) bridging animation logic and large language model neural networks. His credits include Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life, Men in Black II, The Amazing Spider-Man, among others.

Michael is a writer, producer, and director whose career spans film, television, and literature and who previously served on MPI’s Creative Council. He has written numerous optioned screenplays and scripts-for-hire—and is the author of the Tom Clancy-style technothriller novel Stealing Thunder and the mystery novel A Cold Death, with additional novels and stage plays currently in development.

He holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern California’s prestigious Professional Writing Program, studied at Columbia College, and earned a BA in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His line producing credits include Taken and Taken 2 (Liam Neeson), Havoc (Anne Hathaway), The Kiss, American History X, and Blood and Wine. He has also directed commercials, short films, a documentary, and industrial projects, and he worked on Manahi, an Arabic-language comedy that became the first film screened in Saudi Arabia in 35 years.

In addition to his work on television pilots, independent films, and interactive projects, Mandaville is a bondable line producer currently focused on visual effects software and collaborating with VFX companies to develop cost-saving production methods for feature films.
