MPI Original Films, an official partner of the Sundance Film Festival, will host a panel this month during the famed fest in Park City, Utah.
Titled “Based on a True Story: Filmmaking for Impact,” MPI’s panel of producers, screenwriters, directors, and film subjects will discuss how reality and narrative storytelling interweave to create biopics that entertain, educate, and inspire audiences. Films highlighted include forthcoming MPI Original and BET Original film Kemba and recently released MPI Original Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game.
MPI senior vice president Lana Link will be joined on stage by Kemba Smith, the subject and executive producer of Kemba; Kelley Kali, the director of Kemba; and Austin and Meredith Bragg, the writing and directing team behind Pinball.
The panel will be held Sunday, January 21, at The Box at The Ray. Entry to this event is on a first come, first serve basis. Visit the Sundance program guide here to learn more!
