The award-winning MPI Original Film Regulation makes its debut today on the popular streaming channel Omeleto. The channel is known as a “home for the next generation of great filmmakers” and only features short films that have screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals, BAFTA-qualifying festivals, or other similar top-tier film festivals.

Written and directed by MPI filmmaker Ryan Patch, Regulation depicts a near future wherein a young social worker named Mia (Sunita Mani, GLOW) travels through a small-town community administering behavior-modifying patches that guarantee happiness for the wearers. She must decide what to do when ten-year-old Kaleigh (Audrey Bennett, Broadway’s Frozen) refuses to accept the “happy patch.”

Omeleto describes Regulation as a “soulfully engaging sci-fi short” that “gives rise to thought-provoking questions…through distinctly humanistic, empathetic storytelling based on intelligent writing and sensitive performances.”
