The Moving Picture Institute offers our most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Pamela Battle. A fearless fighter and advocate of school choice, Pam was known for her dedication, love, and above all else, her fiery passion for educational excellence, which served as an inspiration for the parents depicted in the award-winning MPI Original Film Miss Virginia. 

Pam spoke at the 2019 pre-release screening of Miss Virginia in Washington, DC where she discussed the importance of providing children with educational opportunities. She fought with Virginia, on behalf of all of the children in her community, for the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program, which has provided scholarships for thousands of children.
