Congratulations to MPI filmmaker Megan Harrington whose documentary feature The House That Rob Built was recently nominated in the Documentary—Historical/Cultural category of the 2022 Northwest Regional Emmy Awards.

The House That Rob Built tells the story of women’s college basketball coach Robin Selvig, who in an era when gender discrimination in sports was the norm built a “house” of inclusion and empowerment by recruiting female athletes from the ranches, farms, and Native reservations of Big Sky Country. Flanked and empowered by his female assistant coaches, drawn from the ranks of his former players, Selvig created a home—a family—leading generations of athletes to conference championships and NCAA appearances.

Harrington workshopped the documentary in MPI’s Documentary Storytelling Workshop. About the experience Harrington wrote: “I am so grateful to MPI…for the opportunity to workshop the doc. I was at a stage where my film was an assembly cut with very little B-roll, so it was dialogue heavy and story driven. The group offered invaluable and constructive notes that helped us navigate the next shoots and phases of production and post-production.”

The film is now available to watch on your favorite streaming platforms including Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. To learn more about the film and watch the trailer, click here.
