MPI FILM ACCEPTED INTO THE MANCHESTER FILM FESTIVAL AND THE D.C. INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

Our latest MPI original short, Moving Violation, was just accepted into the Manchester Film Festival and the D.C. Independent Film Festival. Written and directed by MPI-supported filmmaker Laura Waters Hinson (Dog DaysMama Rwanda), Moving Violation film depicts a jilted bride who finally faces the truth about her ex-fiancé after a newly-installed speed camera on her street pushes her to the edge.

Moving Violation is Laura’s first narrative short film, which she wrote in MPI’s 2017 Calling Card Short screenwriting workshop, and stars Milana Vayntrub from NBC’s Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning show This is Us.

The D.C. Independent Film Festival, the oldest independent film festival in Washington, D.C., exhibits world premiere screenings, hosts seminars and workshops, and sponsors discussions with the United States Congress. Moving Violation will screen at the Carnegie Institution for Science on Sunday, February 18, at 1:00pm. Find more details about the event here.

The Manchester Film Festival is an annual independent film festival, committed and dedicated to showcase the works of both new and established international and domestic filmmakers from the world of independent cinema. Moving Violation will screen at the ODEON Great Northern on Friday, March 2, at 8:20pm as part of the Shorts Session 3.
