The MPI Original feature Motherland recently won two top honors at the New Hope Film Festival—Best Director and Best of the Fest (Best Picture). It was also nominated in three additional categories: the Female Eye on Filmmaking Award, Best Sci-Fi Feature, and Best Narrative Feature. Often called the “Sundance East” of the East Coast, the festival is known for celebrating independent filmmakers and bold, original storytelling.

The film arrives September 12 in North America, premiering in select theaters and across major on-demand platforms, with a UK release to follow on September 15. Watch the official trailer below for a first look.
