The MPI Original short film Melons will screen next as an official selection at the San Diego International ShortsFest May 20–22. The virtual festival strives to celebrate the art of cinematic storytelling through short films. 

Melons, starring Brian Huskey (Veep, People of Earth, Bob’s Burgers) and Martin Mull (Roseanne, Arrested Development, Clue), was developed by MPI filmmaker Matt MacDonald in MPI’s Short Film Lab. The short, which explores the often ridiculous nature of today’s cancel culture, made its world premiere earlier this month at the Oscar-qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival.
