The Moving Picture Institute (MPI) is seeking a Director of Talent Engagement to play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding the organization’s filmmaker network. MPI creates high-impact films that entertain, inspire, and educate audiences through captivating stories about human freedom. The director will focus on advancing MPI’s talent incubator initiatives, including the Rising Filmmaker Program, which encompasses the Hollywood Career Launch Program (MPI’s internship program). Responsibilities include maintaining an alumni database of over 650 filmmakers and overseeing alumni outreach efforts. This position reports to the senior vice president.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding MPI’s dynamic network of filmmakers, interns, and fellows. This includes conducting annual check-ins to track career milestones and facilitating ongoing communication through a new filmmaker engagement platform. By sharing important updates with the internal team and staying closely connected to MPI’s alumni community, this individual will ensure that meaningful relationships remain at the core of MPI’s mission. They will also oversee the administration of MPI’s internship program, from recruitment and placement to conducting entrance and exit interviews, while building strong partnerships with host companies.

With at least five years of relevant experience, the candidate must bring exceptional interpersonal skills, strong programming expertise, and a deep commitment to MPI’s vision of uplifting voices in film. They will lead initiatives like the Intern Summit, Freedom + Film Summer Series, and the Rising Executive Program, while also representing MPI at conferences, festivals, and key industry events. A background in entertainment and a love for film are highly valued, as is the ability to work independently, communicate with clarity, and manage multiple projects with integrity and professionalism. This role requires frequent travel and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, making it ideal for someone eager to make a lasting impact on the future of filmmaking.
