The award-winning MPI Original feature film Miss Virginia starring three-time Emmy award-winner Uzo Aduba (Mrs. America, Orange Is the New Black) was recently highlighted by Glamour in the top 10 of its “53 Best Movies on Netflix You Can Watch Now” list. With over 3,700 movies currently streaming on Netflix, we are thrilled to be in the ranking.
Miss Virginia is inspired by the story of Virginia Walden Ford, a struggling single mother from a low-income neighborhood in Washington, DC. Affectionately called “Miss Virginia” and “the Education Lady” by neighborhood children, Virginia fought to create a scholarship program for her at-risk son and children like him. And she won.
