The countdown has begun. As Skyward: The Sport Rocketry Revolution prepares to launch its festival run this July, the trailer for the new MPI Original short is now available.

Co-directed by MPI filmmaker Matthew Middendorf and Kaitlyn Krikorian, Skyward celebrates the passion and ingenuity of sport rocketry enthusiasts, highlighting their pursuit of STEM education, innovation, and exploration while navigating restrictive regulations and legal battles with the Federal Aviation Administration. Through stories of perseverance and determination, the film captures the enduring drive to innovate, explore, and reach for the stars.

Skyward will screen on July 11 at the Anthem Film Festival in Las Vegas and at Indy Shorts as part of the MPI Shorts Block on July 25 in Indianapolis. You can also stream the film online through Indy Shorts during the festival’s virtual program.

Following its development in MPI’s 2024 Documentary Storytelling Workshop, Skyward was selected for production through the 2025 Production Lab.
