April 7th is recognized by the United Nations as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. The MPI-supported documentary Mama Rwanda honors the strength of the Rwandan people, telling the story of two mothers using entrepreneurship to transform post-genocide Rwanda into one of the top ten fastest growing economies in the world.
The film follows Drocella, a village wife, and Christine, a city widow, who have traded subsistence living for a life of business innovation—sparking enlightenment and controversy in their communities.
