Screening: ‘Freedom Hair’ // African Diaspora Cinema Festival

The MPI Original feature film Freedom Hair will have its International premiere African Diaspora Cinema Festival in Florence, Italy on June 30 at 6:15 p.m.

Freedom Hair is based on the inspiring, true story of Melony Armstrong, a mother and entrepreneur who decides to start a natural hair braiding business in order to achieve financial independence. However, To realize her dream, she must overcome unexpected obstacles imposed by the state of Mississippi and a powerful cosmetology cartel. The film stars Simona Brown (Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes), Jeremie Harris (Legion, Fargo), Sophia Bush (Good Sam, False Positive), and Erica Tazel (Justified, Roots).
