Official Release: ‘Freedom Hair’

The MPI Original feature film Freedom Hair, starring Simona Brown (Behind Her Eyes, The Night Manager), Jeremie Harris (Legion, A Walk Among the Tombstones), and Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill, Chicago P.D.), will premiere Friday, August 30, across your favorite streaming platforms including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play and in select theaters.

Written and directed by Oscar-nominated Dianne Houston, Freedom Hair is based on the inspiring true story of Melony Armstrong. The film centers around Melony, a determined mother who starts a natural hair braiding business to achieve financial independence but faces unexpected challenges from a powerful cosmetology cartel and the State of Mississippi.
