MPI filmmaker David Altrogge’s documentary Clemente has been nominated for a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Sports Documentary: Long.

A participant in MPI’s 2024 Documentary Storytelling Workshop and 2025 Short Film Lab, David directed the film, which is executive-produced by LeBron James and Oscar-nominee Richard Linklater. Clemente traces the life and legacy of Roberto Clemente—from his childhood in Puerto Rico to his rise as one of baseball’s most iconic players. The film premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival, where it won the Documentary Spotlight Audience Award.
