The good news keeps coming: the MPI Original feature narrative film Freedom Hair won the Best Feature award at the Black Film Festival of New Orleans, a leading festival for independent films and filmmakers in Louisiana.

A special opening night screening is happening this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Hope Church Tupelo in Tupelo, Mississippi. Reserve your seat now and stay for a Q&A session with the film’s subject and executive producer, Melony Armstrong.

Melony will also be in attendance at the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival screenings on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in Cleveland, Ohio. Purchase tickets here.

The film is set to screen as an official selection at the LA Femme International Film Festival on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Regal Cinemas 14, downtown Los Angeles, California. The film program will be published in September.

Finally, Freedom Hair will screen at the Teaneck International Film Festival on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Teaneck Cinemas in New Jersey. The tickets will soon be available for purchase here.
