MPI Original Films is excited to announce Jonathan Braylock (Astronomy Club) and Emily Pendergast (Veep) will lead the MPI Original web series We’re Doing Good. The comedic series, written and directed by MPI filmmaker Elvira Ibragimova, follows a millennial couple that is aspiring to “do good” in the world. Despite their best efforts, however, they fail humorously and spectacularly at every turn, often harming the very causes they are trying to help.

Jonathan is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose recent credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Broad City, and the New Line Cinema feature film How to Be Single. He is a head writer for the sketch group Astronomy Club, which premiered their sketch series of the same name on Netflix with Kenya Barris and Dan Powell executive producing. Jon co-hosts the popular podcast Black Men Can’t Jump [In Hollywood], celebrated by Rotten Tomatoes as “one of the best comedy podcasts.” He can also be seen performing regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC.

Emily is a member of the Groundlings Main Company and is best known for her breakout role playing Jonah’s wife in the final season of HBO’s Veep. Her other credits include Miracle Workers, The Conners, Indebted, and HBO’s upcoming miniseries White House Plumbers. Last year Emily went to the Sundance Film Festival as the lead of Eko’s interactive series Damage Control. She recently appeared in the independent feature We Broke Up alongside Aya Cash and William Jackson Harper.

We’re Doing Good is set to film this month in Los Angeles.
