Freedom Hair tells the compelling true story of Melony Armstrong, a Mississippi mother who launched a natural hair braiding business, only to face resistance from the cosmetology lobby and restrictive state regulations. Written and directed by Oscar-nominated Dianne Houston and featuring Simona Brown (star of Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes), the film chronicles Armstrong’s legal battle with the Institute for Justice to break down these barriers and fulfill her entrepreneurial dream.
