The MPI Original Film A Piece of Cake, starring Rich Sommer (GLOW, Mad Men), continues its wildly successful film festival run this September at the Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF) held in Virginia. 

Developed in MPI’s Short Film Creative Development and Production Lab, A Piece of Cake has now screened at more than 35 film festivals around the world, including seven that are Oscar-qualifying. Its accolades include a nomination for Best Narrative Short at the Tribeca Film Festival and Best Comedy and the Audience Choice Award in Comedy at the Indy Shorts International Film Festival. 

This critically acclaimed film follows a desperate father who descends into a confectionery black market after he discovers his daughter’s favorite cake decoration is illegal.
