This intricate yet breezy film is a feast of wryly nuanced acting, a giddy wonder, and also a warmhearted, sharp-edged love story…it’s better than all ten of the Best Picture nominees, and 2023 will be a fine year in movies if there are five better lead performances than Faist’s or five better original screenplays.
