Screening: ‘Freedom Hair’ // Hope College

The Markets and Morality Center will host a public screening of the MPI Original feature film Freedom Hair at Hope College Monday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. The subject of the film and executive producer Melony Armstrong will attend the event and take part in a post-screening Q&A.

Freedom Hair is based on the inspiring, true story of Armstrong, a mother and entrepreneur who decides to start a natural hair braiding business in order to achieve financial independence. However, to realize her dream, she must overcome unexpected obstacles imposed by the state of Mississippi and a powerful cosmetology cartel. The film stars Simona Brown (Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes), Jeremie Harris (Legion, Fargo), Sophia Bush (Good Sam, False Positive), and Erica Tazel (Justified, Roots).
